Email Isn’t Working

If your email isn’t cooperating, check below for possible problems and solutions.

Where to Start
If you can’t receive and/or send mail, double check that you’re using the full email address for your username, the correct password for your password, and the incoming and outgoing servers are set to either mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name) or mail.creocommunico.com

Can’t Receive or Send
When you can’t send or receive email, firewalls and security software are commonly the problem. Check that yours is set to allow both incoming and outgoing for the email program you’re using, and that the ports for sending (25 or 26) and receiving (110) are allowed.

Can’t Send Email
If you can receive mail but can’t send, double check the setup of your email account by following the step by step video tutorial for your program (click here to go to the tutorials) and once you’re sure that part is all set, then if it still doesn’t work, try changing the outgoing mail port from 25 to 26.

People are Getting Bounce Notices
Your mailbox is probably full! You can fix this by clearing out some of the older messages (if you’re using webmail or IMAP) or changing your mailbox limit in cPanel. If it’s not a full box problem, please copy the bounce message and send it to us through the support desk so we can check it out for you.

Mail is Bouncing Back to You
If mail you’re sending is bouncing back it’s probably a problem with the recipient’s email address or server. There might be a typo in the email address, their server might be down, or their mailbox might be full. You can forward us the bounce notice and we’ll check it out at the support desk and let you know what information we can gather from the techno-talk in the bounce notice.

My Problem Isn’t Listed Here
Just open a support ticket and tell us as much as you can about what’s wrong including what’s happening, any error messages you’re getting, what email program you’re using and the email account that’s having problems.
